Trading, bartering, exchanging, swapping, they pretty much all mean the same thing--and we've all done it. Remember trading lunches in elementary school? The system has been around for years. It was built by our ancestors and works the same way now as it worked back then…except now we have technology!
Trading is making a comeback, and it goes hand in hand with entrepreneurship and the environment. People want to own their destiny and preserve the planet…they are becoming more innovative on how to make it happen. Money is no longer a limitation.
In trading, we are only bounded by our own imagination. Trading products is pretty straight forward, but trading services has a bit more of a twist. What are your hobbies, talents, certifications? You can have fun helping someone and meet your own needs as well! Here are some examples from my life, and hopefully they'll help get your creative juices flowing:
My name is Tracy. I've been living in a houseboat community for over two years now, and it has exposed me to a completely different lifestyle. One of the many things I've learned is the world of trading or bartering. It's awesome, it can benefit a lot of people, and I want to share it with others.
I believe we live in a world of abundance. Everything is there for us if we work together. Why be slaves to money when we can instead use a little creativity to reuse our resources and improve our lives, without spending a dime.
I created juicytrade to connect a network of likeminded, good-hearted people through free, online bartering of products and services. There is no catch. juicytrade uses technology to get back to basics and connect people to their wishes.
Case in point, did you ever hear about the “red paper clip”? It's a true story that happened in 2005. A guy started with a red paper clip, and kept trading...he “bartered it up” 14 trades to a house in Canada within 12 months! It went like this:
red paper clip > fish pen > door knob > stove > generator > beer keg (with neon sign) > skiddoo > trip to yahk > van > recording contract > a year of free rent > an afternoon with alice cooper > a KISS snow globe > a role in a movie > a house!!

I love the fact that this really happened and proves that in life we are only limited by ourselves. Help others, help yourself, help the Earth!
